If anyone wants to see the most sanitary work truck engine compartment in the entire free world, ask Nice Work Truck for a pic of his Platinums.
X2........Amazing. I bought some of the Adams VRT Andy. Gonna do the 50/50 mix with water like you suggested. Reps to you.

How the heck are you guys cleaning your engine compartments like that? I'm scared to death to do any cleaning under the hood for fear of damaging any electrical components. I figure I don't need to push my luck and get something else to fail...

I went back with Motorcraft 850's in my truck since the originals were 7 years/90k miles old. They were still holding good starting amperage...but I felt time was against me. They came with 3 year free replacement/100 month warranty (64 month prorate after the first 3 years). Any Ford dealership can/should handle your warranty issue if you have a failure out on the road. I work away from home allot, so dealership network was a bonus to me. One of the old batteries I stuck in our Explorer and the other is in a buddy's daily driver. Both never leave town...so if/when they die it won't be a huge deal to recover the fumble. The question now is how long with they go before they do give up the ghost...they're at least 8 years old, that's when the truck was built and they were the originals from KTP.

I have cleaned the engine compartment in my 6.0 probably 3 or 4 times a year since it was new. I have never had an issue. I do use compressed air or my Stihl hand held leaf blower (don't laugh!!) to get most of the moisture off afterward.

The way fire department guys do it, with a damp rag followed by a dry rag. NEVER use a pressure washer.

I just use a citrus clearer and spray down with Adams polishes VRT dressing at a 50/50 mix with water 2-3 times a year.
