The purpose of this bracket...

This bracket was on our '68 F350 and is pictured on a '77 F600.

The new cab we got for our F350 restore is a 69 (I believe) F250 and lacks both the bracket and the bolt holes to add it.

What triggers a truck being equipped with this? It doesn't seem to be age, because the donor cab came in between this other two trucks. I'm guessing the F250 didn't get it because it was a lighter duty truck, but that doesn't make sense for a hood support....

So, any ideas? I'd love to add it to the F350, just to be original....

C7TZ-8102294-A Right & C7TZ-8102295-A Left .. Bracket-Cowl Top Panel to Fender Apron / 1967/72 F100/350.

1973/79 F500/880: The basic part number was different (016A94 vs 02294/02295), so it had a different application, but was not available by itself. Furnished only with the firewall.

Any idea why some cabs got it and some didn't?

Dunno...the C7TZ part numbers came from the '64/72 Ford truck parts catalog. There is no mention of before/from certain serial numbers.
