4x4 shifter
what is it supposed to feel like when you shift the transfer case??when i shift it feels smooth all the way through.is it supposed to click in each position or is this how they are?the t case is a np205 and np435 tranny.the truck is a 78 f 150.

you should feel it go into each gear. Mines never been apart in its life and you got to pull or push like crazy to get in gear. The np 205 has ball bearings and detents in the shift rods to index them with each gear, I have to check on this to be sure. Did you check to see if you linkage is still hooked up or maybe you lost a set screw that holds a ball and spring in.

how convenient, the site that used to have info on modifying shift rails for dual sticking the 205 doesn't have the info up any more, probably because they are now selling the modified shift rails them selves.
