like others said, I don't own an ecoboost (although I keep "liking" them more and more each time I do work on one), I always change my own oil.

Amsoil Signature, 5W-20, with a Ea Oil filter every 3000 miles

Bought a 2011 Ecoboost Sat. Have about 400 miles on it and plan on changing oil at 1000miles if not before. Going to Mobil 1 10w -30w. I already use in GMC Acadia so will use same oil in both. Called Mobil and they say 10,000 miles but I will strugle to wait until 5000. Filter I bought is a Fram TG10575. This was at WalMart. The TG is a little upgrade. I also called Fram to verify number. It was aroung $7-$8 I think, oil was $24.50 for 5 qt. Thanks to previous posts for info. Been on the 7.3 forum for few years. How about Air Filter mods?? Dave

Found this searching the forum this weekend and wanted to Thank you for posting. The picture post that is linked to this thread is still relevant for a 2013 Eco. Changed my oil in no time. Thought the filter might be a pain but came off and back on without a hitch.

I had one of those valves on my '77 Regal that I shoehorned a 455 into..made oil changes so much easier and cleaner..never worried about it opening by accident

Question OIL CHANGE

I change mine every 4 months (~1000 miles) and use 20W-50 in Florida; I like the thicker oil for a 1969 F-100. Access to filter and drain plug is easy, but I want to replace drain plug with something easier than a 3/4" wrench and follow-on mess. What's an easy and clean valve/tube combination?

For my 1969 F100, and in Florida, I use 20W-50 and change it every 4 months (~1000 miles). Easy access to filter and plug, but messy. Looking for easy and clean valve/tube combo, thanx

Welp, 2 years and 70,000 miles later... that went fast.

Full Synthetic 5W-30, I'm not brand specific, between 6k & 7k miles and I usually still have roughly 20% oil life according to the computer.
It's cheaper, I like doing it except when it's <40F...

I had it changed at the dealership in Camp Hill PA (Harrisburg) and when I changed it myself the next time, the filter came off without any effort, it was threaded on far enough but was not tight.
Between that and another incident where they held my insurance and registration hostage while I was testing driving a truck, then they lost my registration (I found it blowing in the wind outside... I wish I was joking), I really, really am not a fan of that dealership.

On a happier note I'll be paying my truck off next week! That has been a long road as a couple guys around here might remember.
Happy Friday all

Try the FUMOTO ENGINE OIL DRAIN VALVE. They work GREAT...IMHO!!
