Recall on Continental ContiTrac tires -

Recall Results | Safercar.gov | NHTSA

I had these tires OEM on my 2011 F350 Crew Cab Lariat 4x4 in the LT275 6518 and had the same issues as the LT275 7018 listed in the recall but they would not cover them. I was passed the OEM 12/12 warranty and the recall was on the 70-18 not 65-18.

The tires are horrible, so we switched over to the Michelin LTX MS2's. The Continental's lasted about 20k miles with heavy towing, just retired a set of the Michelin's that lasted 70k miles doing the same job. Both tires are priced the same, so it's a no brainer!

The OEM Conti's on the 18" wheels are so bad, the dealer I was working with told me that they'd swap them out for Michelins LTX for free. We test drove an F250 4x4 crew cab with Conti's and they were out of balance something terrible. Dealer said they're terrible tires.

Conti's are just bad (junk) is so many ways....tractions stinks, treadwear stinks, and tire balance stinks! I don't even know if Ford is putting them on trucks from the factory anymore?

They are. I bought my truck about 4 months ago. I had very specific details about what I wanted. One of them was I had to have 20" Michelins. Told my dealer that I would not accept a truck with Continentals.

You know Continental and Good Year are the same company right?
I've had some decent Good Year tires before such as silent armor. I've heard time over to stay with Michelin. Just anxious to see how they do in the snow!

Are you confusing Goodyear with General?

Continental and General are the same company and have no affiliation with Goodyear.

Ive got a set of continentals that I took off my F250 last fall after the first snow fall. They only have about 6000 miles on them. Is there any recall that I can get replacements for them....??

I've got those LT275 7018 tires on my 2011 F250, I haven't receieved any recall info. Where did you find this and how can I determine if mine are up for a recall?

The link on the first posting says the tires were installed on 2008--2009 F250 and F350 vehicles. According to the link furnished our 2011's are not included.

OK must have missed that part. I googled the recall and sent Continental an email with my DOT numbers and will see what they say. I notice the number seems to be outside the range mentioned in the recall.

LT275 65 18's Continental's came OEM on mine and they were junk @ 20k miles towing heavy. Factory tire warranty is 12/12 and it seams Continental was only covering LT275 70 18's in the recall even though my tires add all the same symptoms. Excessive tread wear, one even had a belt under the tread break and warp the tire causing a massive vibration, felt like the rim was coming off the truck when it happened.

I had to replace one of my Continental 275/70-18's due to cracking all around the inside of the tread. The dealer said it was a bad defective tire but was not on the recall list. I sent Continental 3 e-mails including pictures and DOT numbers. They sent me back 1 e-mail that said 'sorry but your tire is not part of the recall'. When I replace these tires can you all guess what brand 'WON'T' be going on my truck?

Continental & General same company? Huh, I didn't know that. My truck came with Generals. I've never had these on any vehicle before. But with a little over 10,000 they look new. I'll be curious how long they last.

Just recieved my truck last week and Ford is still putting them on.

Get this, I bought a loaded Lariat 4x4 and they put those junk things on a $58k truck. I was mad and made a stink with the sales guy but all he offered was to sell me a set of take off 20's...which would not work as the truck just fits in the garage, would not be enough clearance.

Now I wish I would have been more insistent.
