Putting a 460 in my '73 high boy. Where can I get motor mounts? I seen some on Bronco Graveyard, but I wanted to know if there are any cheaper ones out there like at the local parts store. Any suggestions? Thanks.
I used a 390 mount from the local parts store and drilled them to fit on the engine and it bolted to the frame mount. The frame mount was cut up by the PO and we welded a new face on the mount and sloted it to match the motor mounts that we made.
I don't know many other things you may be changing, but you would be surprised how many little things are different when doing a swap like this. I went from a 351M to a 390 and had a whole donor truck to work with. Most parts were the same, but there were a few surprises. I think the mounts were the same, but bolted to the frame in different holes. The gas pedal linkage that comes through the firewall was different, and would have required some modification if not for having the donor truck sitting there. Best case scenario is to find a complete 460 truck for next to nothing and you will have all the associated parts you need and how they bolt on.
