Hey everybody,
So my 2011 6.7L is in limp mode right now due to a contaminated exhaust fluid warning. I’ve been driving it back and forth to work until I can get it in for diagnostic. Everything seems fine except I noticed randomly today that my fuel level reads as 9km to E. I’ve got way more fuel than that in there so I’m wondering if my truck is going to shut down on me if I drive it anymore. Is there a limit to how far you can drive in limp mode, as in a mileage cap? I know speed is limited, but I’ve also heard that’s just the beginning and the truck motor will just shut down eventually. Is that what I’m seeing in my distance to empty?

I have never know limp mode to limit miles. But it is possible. It is also possible that you will have more to replace that you may not have it you addressed the issue or quite driving it until fixed.

 

DEF related issues will put the truck into limp mode then speed reduced to 50mph, then eventually idle only. What code is the truck displaying? P207F is a hard one to recover from, so hope it's not that one.
