Mark, what model year or years should one use SP Versus LV ?
For exampel my Mfg date is 9/06
Closing in on 25K so I thing its time to do the extarnal filter & drain the pan & refill. And yes I know most likley a bit soon by miles but I am a bit of a maint freak!!
I've had a Suncoast kit in since about 65K that allows for Mercon III or V but I've always used SP and now LV in mine since then with some SERIOUS abuse. Still going at 175K.
There is no such thing as MERCON III. Ford only made MERCON, MERCON V, MERCON SP, and MERCON LV.
Does the Suncoast kit come with all new solenoids that are a different design than stock? MERCON and MERCON V will kill the stock solenoids.

There isn't any. MERCON LV has replaced MERCON SP for all years that used MERCON SP.

I wasn't a Ford guy for many years . I only converted in the last 8 so I'm STILL learning. I just know I've never had anything in my 5R110 but what the engineers recommended and I've never had any problems.
