untamnd- do you have any pictures of the L&L headers and what year is the truck they are on?

my goals for now are 2.5 true duals, an h-pipe and cherry bomb extremes, i am still undecided on the cats. i want it to be loud but i also do want it to sound like ****. so im hopen it wont back fire a crack tomuch if i run no cats at all, but i will def look into high flow cats Diesel_Brad

now for the h-pipe should that be infront of the cats and mufflers?

My trucks are 600 miles away. Sorry no pics.
H pipe needs to be preferably between the cats and mufflers. If no cats then about 16-24" from the manifolds. (or right after the headers). The backfiring on deceleration Is mostly caused by large volume pipes or a chamber. The cats usually catch the unburned fuel and burn it but if no cats then fumes build up and give you the backfire or popping sounds.
Most all my trucks are efi. The underside is all the same. Only sheet metal changed.

ok sucks about the pictures. ok i think for 30.00 some bucks ill take the chance of the popping crack sound. so i should put the H-pipe between the fake cats and the mufflers, noted.

what your thaught on the best high flowing cat. and should i have on or not on the truck

Personally I like cats. They clean up the sound real well.
What kind of fake cats were you getting. A hollow chamber or a cat look with a strait pipe through it. If its a chamber then it's going to sound like crap. And backfire and pop all the time. Cats clean up the garbage sound and give a more consistent note. I have a turbo 4cyl ranger that sounds like a small block at idle. Right muffler and tubing choice, with a cat.
If you're spending 30 on fake cats already just spend 20 more and get a real one. They flow better then stock and you'll have two on there. Even less restriction then. You won't be disappointed in the sound.

H-pipe location is really tied to O2 sensor location. The O2 sensor MUST be before the cats, if you ever do put them in, or else they will always indicate lean and you will get even worse mileage and that might even cause you to fail an emissions test.

the fake cats are stright pipe with a cat body. they look good and cant beat the price. the only thing im worried about is the sound i want it loud but also want it to sound good you know what i mean. but as you said i wont be disappointed.

ok so if it is based on o2 location i should get it in the gerenal area i was thinking behind the tranny cross member. i know that they have to be in front of the cat. is it gonna be a problem if the H-pipe is only about 4-8 inch long?

the l and l headers will have o2 bungs in the end of the headers (i have a set sitting on the shelf right now)
the banks headers will have a single bung in the y pipe (pretty sure) that comes with the kit (just put this into my 95 4door longbed F350 4x4 5spd a year ago)

the h-pipe can go right after the "cats"

ok i think im going to go with the doug thorley tri-y headers due to space plus i like how the drive side collector comes out to the side which means i can run it along the pass side frame and not worry about the transfer case and gas tank then just split i at the rear axle.

The extremes are going to make that truck loud. Almost as loud as a straight piped truck. The body is 8in wide with a single V in the middle and no sound deadeding material. My 351w with cam, heads and headers has one on it with no cat and it will set off car alarms easily. That 460 will be plenty loud for you
