Gauges, Which ones

<!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->I'm bouncing back and forth between 3 or 4 guages. I would like to have EGT, Tranny temp, boost, and fuel pressure but wonder if a 4 gauge piller add on is too much.

If you could only have 3 which one would you do without?

Thanks again

Well let's see. EGT's could melt a hole in a piston so that's kind of important. Hot tranny temps can kill the transmission and cause it to be replaced, so that's kind of important. Elevated boost pressure can cause the stock turbo to fail, so that's important. Low fuel pressure will make the truck run sluggish under load.

If you're only going with 3, skip the fuel pressure. There won't be any expensive failures that suddenly occur due to lack of fuel pressure.

The gauges i'm looking at offer a 35 psi and 60 psi boost gauge. Does the 7.3 ever make more than 35psi. Mine will never be a power monster, just an every day driver with a tune.

Not in stock form. Depending on the tunes, you might get close but a 35psi gauge will work...

There is another option if you want more gauges in addition to the A-pillar.

I agree, I currently run EGT, Boost, and Trans temp, I want fuel pressure but it will have to wait.

Even though I have a cooler on it???

I have to admit this tranny confuses me, a cooler and runs on ATF rather than 90w
