Within the last two weeks my E350 has started to surge every once in while, most noticebly when stopped, in Drive or Reverse with the brakes on. Then it will stop duing it? It does it when cold or warm, but I have noticed it more when it is warm. The van is stock, except for a Banks Sindwinder Turbo kit.
Anyone have any ideas? Help!
It makes backing up with a trailer or being at a stoplight rather tuff!
It will 'stumble' a little when idling too. When I rev it up in park, or press on the pedal it revs fine. It only seems to surge when in gear and stopped with the brakes on, or stumbling some at idle in park.
It has 181K, but has had a pump and injector rebuild @ about 150k-ish. Thanks for the input, I will change the pump (their cheap) and see what we get! Any reason that some guys go to electric pumps?

My truck was doing the exact same thing a week or two ago. I have a brand new lift pump, IP and injectors. My best guess is air intrusion somewhere in the fuel system. If you are experiencing this issue on 1/4 tank or less, your fuel pickup could have rotted off and you are sucking air as if the tank were getting empty.
And If what eatont9999 said isn't the case or ididieseljohn said.... I prefer the electric fuel pump because it is a more constant fuel pressure you can actually have a small power increase due to better and more constant pressure... Just for the heck of it I bypassed my electric fuel pump and within 2 hours I was hooking it back up
