Tires rubbing after getting new rims/tires
Hey all, I purchased some AR 767 15x8" rims and some GY Wrangler MT/R 35"x12.50" tires. After installing them I cannot turn the wheel lock to lock without the tires rubbing on the radius arms.
Question:
Is it safe to assume that I can put a spacer to compensate for the rubbing? I got the rims from Pep-Boys (idot! Doh!) and had them order them for my truck under the assumption that the correct backspacing was applied to the rim. Was I an idiot for not asking for a little bit more backspacing to compensate for the new/wider tires that went under my truck? I'm getting sick and tired of having the tires rub and I don't want to have one of the lugs catch on the radius arms and bend it.
What should I do?

You mean it rubs on the radius arm when you turn it all the way? Mine does that too, lots of our trucks do. It's not a big deal, just don't turn the wheel all the way. Spacers are not a great idea. You're not suppose to turn it all the way to the steering stops anyway, bad for the P/S pump.

My 35" Thornbirds have huge side lugs, they rub pretty hard if I turn too sharp, hard enough to make the front end jump. You aren't gonna bend the radius arm, if anything it would hurt the tire. I have had these tires for over a year now, and haven't hurt the lugs at all. My suggestion is just don't turn so sharp. I go on trails, offroading alot and need to turn sharp sometimes, and when I do, it is just a little rough for a second, thats all.
Good Luck!

You don't need MORE backspacing to clear your radius arms. You need LESS! Aside from that, I wouldn't worry about bending the radius arms with the tires. You'll shred the tires first.
If you want to get rid of the rubbing, either adjust your steering stops or get different wheels. Adjusting the stops is free and easy although you will probably loose a little turing radius.

I have no idea what came with my lift. Nor do I know what brand it is. Looks to be not one that a company would sell...more like redneck engineering. It does have the drop brackets i know that. Can I get extended radius arms put on? How expensive are just the arms if I can?
