Help!!, got muddy water in my intake, what did I possibly tear up

Well I pulled a bone head move, and decided to try to pass through a mud hole, and it had more water on top than I had thought. I got stuck, then she wouldnt rev past idle. I got pulled out and found my air filter was soaked and I had moisture in my intake tube. She never threw a ses light, and after I pulled the filter and used a rag to clean my intake, she cranked up just fine and drove home ok. What have I probably hurt, and is there anything I can do to repair it.

Pull the intake tube off the turbo and check the compressor wheel. Post a good pic of the wheel.

If we don't know what is damaged we can't tell you how to repair it.

This is for driving into the mud hole .

Next time use your mud hole dipstick.

Cant get my phone to post a pic, the wheel looks fine, spins freely, it looks like there is a slighr bit of dust on the outer 3/8" of the wheel. Most of the dirt shoulda been filtered out, and people inject water all the time in water meth kits, so maybe im ok.

If the wheel looks close to this good you are ok. Sharp edges and no rounded blades. This is an E99 wheel by the way.

FYI : Water and meth is injected post-turbo.

Ok, double checked my wheel edges, and they are slightly rough, could they be that dur to years of ranch roads and neglect? They arent bent btw. I have an e99 turbo laying around that was recently rebulit, should I put it on?

Edges could certainly be rough from neglecting the air filtering system. Is this an E99 turbo? If so you can always put in the rebuilt E99 turbo. If the turbo on the truck is not an E99 then putting the smaller E99 turbo on may be at the cost of a very small decrease in performance. May not even notice it in the SOTP. If the truck runs just as well post mud hole I would not even think about swapping the turbos unless I was really, really bored.

Thanks a ton, I wish the mobile site would let me rep you. The truck is a L99, so ill just leave everything alone, for now. This ole truck was well abused before I rescued her. I am gonna modify ky intake to keep this from happening again.
P.S. What is the sensor in the bottom of the filter box.

You're worried about the turbo when sucking water, ??? you really need to be worried about bent rods from hydrolocking the engine.

That would be the AIT (Air Intake Temp) sensor.

The CAC (Charge Air Cooler) Jim is referring to is the intercooler.

About the rep. The thought is just as much appreciated.

Im not thinking there are any bent push rods, she still runs too good, she never died in the water, and the filter should have kept most of the water down.

Im pulling the Ic today to check and clean it, seems like the perfect.time for the foil delete
