2003 F150 King Ranch 5.4L MPG?

Hey guys I am looking at getting a King Ranch 03 with a 5.4L in it. The guy is giving me a great deal and its only got 118,000 miles on it, but he tells me it only gets 11 mpg on a good day. I know he drives a lot of gravel. Could it possible have an O2 sensor out or is this a normal mpg average? Help me out please these trucks are sharp as heck and would really like to get my hands on it but dont want to have the gas pump kick my *** any more than it does already! Thanks!

Really? I have heard that the 5.4L get better than that? Is there any ways to get it better? Obviously driving habits are one way but is there any other way?

I drive conservately majority of time during my ownership with 02 5.4L 4x4. Average under 14 mpg mixed driving on highway and city. 11mpg is pretty low, but after spark plug tuneup, and gas filter replacement, it should help some.
You might want to ask if spark plugs replacement have been done, it should be at around 90-100K miles.

11 MPG in city with a heavy foot maybe..... otherwise that's way LOW!
I get 14.5 to 15 on the highway with all my mods....lol

Probably needs a tune up and a good service going over.

I average about 14 to 15 with my 1999 5.4L, no mods yet and I have 166,000 miles on it. I just keep on top of my tune ups, oil changes and other maintenance.
