Made a little more progress on the air cleaner box.

Hammer formed the side panels.

Happy Monday, just a little progress update.

I've been agonizing over how to get enough wire to the passenger side of the truck so I can get the fuse pane in an aesthetically pleasing position. My original plan was to blow a huge hole in the inner fender to allow the plugs on the firewall to pass thru this eliminating the run up and down the inner fender.

The more ore I looked at that proposition. The less I liked it.

So I regrouped. Tossed that idea in the trash. And relooked at the placement possibilities for the fuse panel.

After securing the wires with rubber coated clamps.

I was able to route the wires in a way that I could mount the fuse panel in the front corner of the inner fender/radiator support opening.

So I was able also to start mocking up the vintage air ac condenser and dryer.

Of of course I couldn’t find the template to drill the hole for the lines to pass thru the support.

Anyone else not like seeing the dryer dryer behind the grill on our trucks?

im thinking I need to purchase and bend up a new hard line from the condenser and pass it thru the support so I can hide the dryer behind the grill support.

So I had asked about the inner fender lower bolt holes on the 56 trucks vs the 53-55 and most that answered were unsure.

So here ya go.

An original 56 inner fender doesn’t even have a lower hole to confuse you with.

I used all vintage air parts but mounted the dryer on the frame.

Jules, did you use the provided hard lines? Or just use rubber?

I didn't buy the kit so I did rubber lines and 90 degree bulkhead fittings thru the front wing.

Gotcha. I can’t stand the drier out where it is. So I’m gonna buy some you bend em hard lines and route them thru the wing like the kit and mount the drier behind the wing.

You would think they would offer some alternative mounting options and corresponding pre bent lines. But hey I guess that’s our job to reinvent the wheel.

So today I decided to remove the recently painted lower radiator mount and modify it.

Having not put any thought into mounting hardware for the radiator mount nor the transmission cooler mounting bracket, I fought, sweared and bitched about mounting this bracket to the radiator support hoop.

So, I ground all the paint off. Grabbed some flange bolts and some stacked flat washers for forward spacers. Then welded them to the bracket.

Please tell me there is more.... I'm really enjoying the build but there hasn't been any update in 3 years.
