Well gang.... progress continues.

last weekend ended with some hardware painting.

Then it was time to start installing the painted parts.

I started by reinstalling the crank pulley.

Then moved on to the other drive components.

including the water outlet/oil filter housing.

The ac pump, and power steering pump are currently drying. I should be able to install them tomorrow.

The mail man should be bringing me new power steering lines (pressure and return) this coming week. Which will be installed next weekend.

Well it was time to start mocking up the front inner fenders. I decided to cut up my originals before slicing into the new ones I purchased.

The first cuts were close... but not quite.

so another line was laid down.

and yet another cut was made.

bingo!

Then I trimmed off the front and rear tails

and duplicated everything to the drivers side.

I've decided to run the crown Victoria radiator.

Way Way Way after deciding to purchase a brand new mid fifty radiator for the ole 272 V8 I was going to run originally.

ohh well... Either I will use it someday of find somebody that wants to purchase it.

Here is the crown vic radiator sitting about where it will end up.

I have to get some plate cut out and start adapting the stock crown vic mounts to the 56 radiator support.

Got working on the radiator mounts yesterday.

First thing was to trim some excess plastic off the radiator.

Next was to trim the stock mounts.

And fit them to some plate that will be secured to the radiator horn.

And then welding

trimmed some material and reinstalled.

Tom, do you still have your original F100 radiator? If so you could cut the top off to make a new tank for the CV system instead of the plastic one. Then seal it add the required inlets, outlets and mount it above the new radiator for an original look.

Jules,

I had intended on running the original style radiator. In fact purchased a brand new radiator from mid fifty. However I purchased a radiator for the 272 v8. I cannot bring myself to have that brand new radiator modified.

So I decided to run the crown vic one. I don't think it looks bad. I much prefer the stock look, but dropping another $400 on a radiator is out of the question right now.

Did you buy the new aluminum one? That is what I was planning on with original style tank on top.

I was just suggesting if you had an old one that it would be a cool overflow tank instead of the plastic CV one.

AHHHH..... Now I see what you were getting at. I actually sold two original radiators after I purchased my new radiator. But I do like your thoughts.

I was thinking that I might purchase an aluminum oem style radiator off fleabay once the truck is running as a finishing touch. I know I can also get aluminum overflows and power steering tanks for the crown vics and mustangs.

Things are slow on the crew cab. My buddy does a lot of car shows in the summer. So access to the truck has been limited. But it has allowed me to work on the Coe project.

So I'm progressing one that one at the moment.

I can't imagine tying to get two old Ford projects done at the same time. I have my COE and a '75 Bronco and the Bronco is going to have to wait. It doesn't cost anything to just sit there.

Ken I am presently working on 4 at the same time. (One for each family member) My thinking is that most of the body and fenders rust in same spots so making the repair panels back to back may go faster while fresh in the mind and since I'm teaching my sons they see one and can do the others. I'll concentrate on one when I get to assembly.

I seen dynamic's work from past threads I think he can knock out both with ease. I always loved the pic when they questioned his roof support of him standing on it. I smile every time I think of it.
