Can the center seat in the front be moved back a bit

I have the 2011 SuperCrew with the center console that can be used as a seat, we havent had a need to use it til just last week.. thats why we got that setup for the seating available.. but having my 15yr daughter seat there was very uncomfortable because she was to far forward.

Im not looking to make it adjustable, but would like to know if its possible to move it back some so there is a little leg room for whom ever seats there..

thanks

The bracket that bolts the jump-seat down is also bolted to the floor. There are no adjustments. I guess Ford designed the jump-seat setup for children and small people.

I suppose one could relocate the bracket and drill holes in a new location but I don't think I would want to do that.

Well that sucks.. everyone that rides is tall.. except the kids which sit in the back.. so guess they will need to get use to it.

thanks..

It's not very wide and as narrow as the jump-seat is even if you were able to move it back, someone sitting there would be at the mercy of what ever the passenger or driver-seat adjustment was.

no thats fine.. its just the weekend that it was used, the person in the middle was sitting so close that it was more of an inconvenience than anything else..trying to look over to the passenger side mirror was not possible, talking with the passenger was not possible as it would be if the middle person was sitting back as far as the other two in the front..

There are several of us that has given up the jump-seat for a full blown console. That's what I did as well because I would never need to use the jump-seat that originally came in my truck.

well in my case, i needed a truck and 6 seater due to size of the family at any given time.. so cant switch to the center console because if that was the case, i would have bought a less expensive car for 6..
Oh well just wanted to see if it was movable so i could move it back a bit..

Good luck to how ever you end up handling it.

Yeah it would have been nice to be "hooked" to the driver or pass. Seat but oh well. My 11 year old sat in it the other night with no problems. Not so much leg room, but it was doable.

In my case its my 16yr old that gets lucky to sit in the middle.
So guess removing and making new holes is not possible or recommended

I was dead set on getting the 300 dollar console, as I have always had buckets. This new truck has the standard console and I gotta say after I test drove two trucks one with and one without, I liked the standard as it seemed to be more comfortable for my elbow and my driving style since it was higher if that makes sense. No one will ever sit there so saved 300 and more comfortable so it was a win win....( drove two trucks for the ecoboost and 5.0 not just for console...lol)

It'd be nice if the jump seat was on rails and could be moved back. I've sat in it myself and I'm 6'2" -- it's doable for a skinny person, there just isn't much leg room. But there's no way I'd get the bucket seats, how am I supposed to get 'cozy' with the missus with a big immovable center console in the way

I'd imagine that someone with some fabrication skills could either make some brackets to move the seat back, or maybe use some junkyard seat brackets to make it adjustable (though likely a bit higher).

Well what I did was drilled same size hole in front of the existing holes, I think about 1.25" then with my air saw and grinder, cut out the metal between then to create a slot. smoothed down the cut, touched up with some black paint so it wont rust later and reinstalled..

Now with both front seats all the way back, the console is just slightly ahead of them by maybe 1/8 inch or so..

So basically the area in green is what I cut out, which was minimal and unless you look for it, you cant tell since its all stock and no new parts were added or changed.. same bolts, retorqued and in the same place.
