Fixed my shuddering upon braking
When I bought my truck it shimmied like a **** under braking. I assumed it was the front rotors but they didn't look in that bad of shape. I bought a cheap harbor freight dial indicator to check runout and sure enough the drivers front showed .004-5 at the center of the outer disc. Did new pads and rotors on both sides of the front today and no longer does the truck try and rattle itself to death when you apply the brakes.
This is the first (of many to come I would imagine) time I've turned wrenches on a super duty and it's all pretty much what I am used to (VW's and Audi's) but the parts are bigger!

It's amazing what a tiny bit of runout will do on a big rotor! I even take a scotch-loc pad to the hub surface now to assure complete flat clean mount even .002 at the center of these rotors makes them pulse a little! It sure not like the old pop a new set of pads on 'em and call it good days...I'm sure glad you got it squared away, did you lube/ replace slide pins and replace the pin boots? And clean up and lube the rails? As the pins are NOTORIOUS for sticking and really should be changed every pad change on these trucks X2 if you live in a region where they salt the roads!
