Fuel Bowl Rebuild = DONE!

Got the fuel bowl rebuilt today! I found a fuel leak about a week ago, and as soon as I verified that it was the fuel bowl the rebuilt went to the top of my list. No sense on pouring liquid money on the road. The rebuild went very well, no issues.

Can you remove the FPR from the bowl in a way other than the 2 torx screws? Its really hard to remove those screws with the bowl in the truck. So I had to use this tool to do it, maybe theres an easier way.

I also bought new sleeves for the fuel rails at the heads. I only did the driver side one. I didn't know how to get to the passenger side one (any tips?). I got the driver side one off and it looked perfect. But I had it off and a new one in my hand so I did it anyway. So my advice is unless you think its leaking, leave it. I hear the passenger one is a common leak though, but I dont know why it would be different.

The other sleeves were GONE. Barely anything there. I have one new one shown for reference:

The fuel bowl orings were mostly good looking, but hopefully I have eliminated a leak. I will know next time I fill up!

I'll be happy to help anyone who is trying to do this.

I just use a stubby wrench, or crow's foot socket, to remove the nut on the passenger rear. The hardest part about replacing the passenger side rear fuel sleeve (or the others for that matter) is that it likes to stay in the nut when the line is removed. I found the easiest way to get it out is to hook the rubber with a curved pick and continue to tun the nut in a counter clockwise direction until the nut unscrews off the sleeve. Then, just slip the new one on the tighten it back up. Also, check for wear on the line where it goes through the "P" clamp on the stud of the intake plenum.

I found the easiest way is just to move the nut back and forth. If you do it enought, eventually the sleeve will catch on the lip of the fuel tube and when you pull the nut back the sleeve stays.

The passenger side rear is subject to quite a bit of heat and tends to harden up in the nut making it difficult to remove. If your method doesn't work, a pick is a alternative. I use a corkscrew looking dental tool that works great. My old boss's sister was a dental hygenist.
