If not, you should have. Since it was just back in July, you should be ok replacing it now without having to worry about the passenger side, since it's only a few months old.

+1 - the other batter got 'wounded' trying to keep you going after the other one had died. Also lucky the alternator didn't burn out.

You know what sounds strange is that ever since I pit in the new alternator - the truck has seemed as if it has much more pep and getupandgo. Anyone else have similar experience ?

I would speculate that the old alternator was dragging because it was always trying to produce. Now that the new one produces properly, it "turns off" and removes the drag. You may see better fuel mileage also.

Same symtoms here. Last year I replaced the alternator with a Ford remanufactured one. Still have intermittent battery idiot light coming on. So both batteries are approx. 2 years old, alternator 1 year old and still the same trouble. I have found that I can play with the "pigtail" to the alternator and get the battery light to go off and you can hear it in the engine when charging resumes. Wonder if its the pigtail or the connector or both.
