I'm looking to put a new exhaust on my 1990 I6. It has a well rusted dual exhaust that splits at the cat. I would like to stick with some kind of a dual exhaust but i want to know what would be the quietest muffler i can get so this thing doesn't even seem to be running? And is it cheap?
For what you're looking for, I've heard good things about the Walker Quiet Flow series. They are supposedly freer-flowing than standard factory replacement mufflers, and yet very quiet. You should be able to get one at Napa.
Well right now its really loud in the cab when i'm not idling. All it has on it is a y pipe behind the cat and than a dual exhaust exiting in the rear. The pipes are rusted. I looked under there yesturday and one is about to fall off. I would like to get something so it's really quiet in the cab but noisy as hell behind me. Any Advice? money probebly wont be an issue since schools almost out and then i can go back to work.
if it is loud in the cab and it is an I6 then u might have a hole in the exhaust, my friend has a 302 with single chambers run out the back and u cannot even hear it in the cab but it sounds bad *** in back, it has some nuts, but if u put a SI/DO 50 series delta flowmaster, it would be quite inside and decent out but dont hope for anything deep with the cats on.
What exatly would you suggest would be the best for the money to do what i want. Taking the cat off is not a problem. All the pipes are pretty rusted out any way i think i have to replace everything from manifold back but thats not a prolem.
