GAS TANK SOLUTIONS WANTED
Why on earth Ford chose to put a meager 29gal gas tank on a 10-12MPG Super Duty truck is just beyond my understanding
Has anyone had experience upgrading to a larger tank with a short bed ext. cab 250 6.8 V10. (2004 model year)? Or, just upgrading in general? Gas tank or some other in-bed solution.
I'd be interested in whatever info I could get
(If there's already information in this forum please direct me to it as I did a search and got nothing)

I went through this last year. I have a 2009, CC, V10, 8 foot bed, 38 gallon gas tank. I contacted all the gas tank companies that you find talked about on here, FTE. They do not make a replacement gas tank whether its a 40, 45, 50, 72 gallon or whatever the number is. If you read it they make replacment fuel tanks (which is for diesel). as far as Gas is concerned they make extra tanks that go into the bed. If you look at the chart on the link above. At least in my case 2009 CC with 8 foot bed they only make it for diesel or if you have a 6 1/2 foot bed. I called them to see if the 6 1/2 foot model would fit on the 8 foot bed. They said NO do to something with this and that. so that is my experience.
