I bought the cab off ebay for $150 from a very nice gentleman from Maryland who drove it to New Milford, PA for me. Its a big truck cab but is in great condition as shown...I have filled a few holes with the welder and now using epoxy putty to seal the seams...I have a decent cab but this was such a great deal. ..I am doing KBS rust seal on firewall and floor top and bottom...saved me about 6 weeks of body work with cowls and cab corners in tact requiring no work...amazing

 

Thats a good lookin cab to start with! Wished mine had of looked that good. I have replaced all 4 corners and part of the floor on my 53. Great score!

 

To be honest I wish I had been that smart! I just had no idea how much work was involved in fixing the cab - It was truly horrendous work - I had the cab corners & Cab floor from hell. You made a great decision & you got a fantastic deal!! (Now got get the doors from that guy).

Most of my searches have been for the 53-56 model years but places like www.classichaulers.com or www.vintageford.com might be able to help you out but I'm sure others with your vintage can steer you in the right direction.

Try pulling up a place called northern clasics. not far from me in michigan. have alot of floor parts. lots of other sheet metal parts for older ford trucks. when I get to my 50 F1 someday they get the first call. good luck

 

What floor???

EMS and Northern Classic Trucks sell the front portion of the floor with the hump in the middle (outlined in red below). Classic Haulers sells the toe kick panels (outlined in pink). No one reproduces the rear floor section (yet) that is after the hump in the middle (outlined in black).



About two months ago I scrapped a 51/52 cab that I couldn't give away (see above). It had a good solid floor in it. I didn't have time to cut it out because the scrap man was coming. I only had time to cut the roof off. I wish I had time to cut the cab in pieces, but I don't have a lot of room to store the large panels at my house.



By the way, any one need a solid roof section?

You win that's got to be the ugliest floor I've ever seen. I've got a '50 F1 & I replaced the entire floor as well. I believe LMC has them as well as Northern Classics. My floor for comparison - you win. I don't think our floors get quite that nasty down here where there is no salt on the roads.

Like Ilya, I've cut up what some people would call perfectly good cabs, just because there's so many of them laying around here, and the limited space to keep such things. It's a shame, and as much as we'd like to, you just can't save everything.

Surely in Texas, there's bound to be a much nicer cab available that would save you a couple hundred hours of welding and patchwork, for less then the cost of patch panels. I have one really nice cab still, if you want to make a road trip north. ;-)
