My truck was 3 seconds faster 0-60 with a 5.8 vs a 5.0, both motors have similar aftermarket cams with stock heads and intakes and the truck had a full exhaust system with longtubes for both motors. I would expect similar results with a stock topend 347.

Did you get those numbers with the build in this thread or did you make some changes since. Very nice combo either way. I just picked up a roller block and want to basicly do the same thing you have done.

Still running stock heads? Same HO cam? What changes since the initial build?

Still have the HO cam(pt no.)? Is it for sale? Did you like how the 1st build turned out vs stock? My pickup is in great shape and it was taken care of. It runs fine but it is pretty lame in the power dept. Looking at the pic of your 347 shortblock and the flattop pistons used. I was wondering what the static compression ratio was with the stock heads.

Yes, were doing my sons 351 in his 92 and will be using that ho cam, e7te heads, etc... the first build turned out very well. Im at 10:1 now and run premium fuel. First build I ran mid grade without any issues. If I was you Tim I would get a 351 from a bronco or something 'roller motor' Build that. The money you save on stroker kit will get you some good heads!

When I throw my 302 powered truck on the dyno if it don't make over 290 at the wheels I'd be dissappointed..

My dissappointed.. But surprised.. It'll be near that mark and probably over

And mine is also daily driven..

Considering the drivetrain in his pickup... 300 hp and 350 tq at the tires is pretty good for a long runner EFI street setup.

If I use a 351W block I would still have a stroker anyway(393 or 408). I just don't want to hassle with needs of the taller block. I once had a 351W powered 81 Mustang, a blown 90 5.0 and several other old Fords. You 1st combo is what I will most likely end up with.

Thanks

Tim
