2.3L crankshaft position sensor

I need to change the timing belt on my 1992 Ranger 2.3L. Base, no power steering or air conditioning. Like a dummy I don't have a book. I pulled off the crank pulley and the gear it bolts to, but the crankshaft position sensor bracket still seems to be in the way of the belt guide (washer) sliding off and on. Do I need to remove the bracket too? I don't like messing with sensor stuff if possible. Also, I'm not seeing the timing mark for the auxiliary pulley.
I would guess it would point at the crank or the cam gear, but I'm not sure.
