F-600 brakes

Howdy all,

I am finally pulling everything apart. Pictures to follow!

I want to completely replace my single circuit boosted brake system with a hydroboosted (powered from the PS pump) double circuit system.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to which master cyl/hydrobooster would work ok with the 55 F-600 double-cyl rear brakes and single-piston front brakes?

I am planning to mount the MC/booster under the floor with the reservoir on the firewall.....but I can also do a hanging pedal if it won't fit.

Anyone been there/done that??

Wasn't there some discussion on this about a year ago? My thoughts are that a hydoboost assembly from a school bus or a medium truck that has roughly the same brake piston diameter as the brake piston on the old remote booster used on your truck would be a good match. I do not have the specs for the hydroboost used in the GM 4500 and 5500 trucks, but it might be s good starting point.

Yeah I think you're right.

I haven't found any parts from one of those yet.

I am thinking that I might be able to just use an MC from a 3/4 or 1T truck.

I also think I'll probably have to use some sort of proportioning valve to make it all work right......
