front axle leak after replacing inner seal, lower ball joint all wet.

 

I would guess the inner seal was not done correctly. bummer

 

No easy fix other than to do it again.

 

Was it leaking before? The less you touch with mechanics the better off you are.

 

yes it was leaking before I change the seal and when I pulled it out for the second time, notice corrosion or pitting around where the seal touches the Axel, thinking of taking it to a machine shop to see if the can fix it grinding some off on the milling machine and then filing it up with material to the original size, since that inner axle at ford is about 700 dollars...

 

Whoa!! 700 bucks?


Try this place. More like 70 bucks for a standard axle inner shaft

Check your bill of materials code to make sure of the exact correct replacement part numbers.

Btw, when the shaft is pitted from rust, there is not much that can be done....
