I for one appreciate the time a effort put forth to help us novices understand the EGR cooler and valve operation. I did not see anything about a recommendation to do a EGR delete and its worthyness. Opinions?

I for one don't think it's necessary and despite at my level of modification, I have not done the delete. Not only that, if he did advocate the delete then that could be seen as advocating a criminal act as deleting the EGR system is against federal law. Regardless if you have local emissions testing or not.
Even if I was for deleting the EGR system, I wouldn't make that comment in a published article.

If spoken in the hypothetical the advantages or disavantages can be publisized and we could then make up our own mind. There are videos and promotions all over the forum for the delete and i have not heard of any fines or jail term for mentioning it. I just wanted performance and engine protection opinions for the delete. Not sure here in North Texas what actual tests are done on diesels upon inspection time.

They get in around the law by saying for off road use only, in which case deletes are legal as far as I know.

None as far as our trucks go. However, like I said it doesn't matter if there is testing or not. If you get caught with a delete you get fined. I know a few that have and I think that there are others on these boards that probably know of a couple first hand of people getting caught. Just like running dyed diesel.
I know of 3 people that did the full delete and still had issues with oil cooler.
I still have a working system, decently modified and still have the original EGR cooler and Oil cooler and I have one of the 05 on up EGR coolers.
I have a 2005 6.0 and everybody tells me I should just do an EGR delete since I don't need it where we live for emissions. Would this be a wise move, or just keep cleaning it everyother oil change?

The EGR delete is removing the EGR cooler not the valve. When deleting its best to leave the valve in the manifold as its used for the engine fan operation.
And it's best to start your own thread if you need assistance or a question that way it doesn't confuse people when they read the thread not related to your question.
Funny you should say that I picked this up at the local salvage yard and thought the same thing. I was wondering if those were factory welds but I figured they would have been machine welded
