Thinking of Selling....what do you think it's worth?
I hardly ever drive my Ex so the wife has been suggesting that we trade it in. I was looking at the VW Touareg with the TDI diesel. My Ex is an 05, all stock with 42k on it. I have the EB with the DVD system for the rear.
What do you think I can get for it?

i bought my 04 limited 6.0 4x4 with every option (rear seat captains, rear seat dvd, chrome running boards, towing mirrors, etc) and it had brand new lre goodyears and a nice brushguard, and full husky molded rubber flootmats. It had 59,000 miles on it when I bought it in june and was damn near perfect, and I paid 22,500 at a ford dealer. From what I saw, the 05's carry a few more bucks due to the update, and yours has lower miles. You won't get any extra for replacing brakes and headlights. For a private sale I'd probably ask 20-23,000. A dealer will list it for closer to 26-27,000.

I only looked at prices from like march-june of this year, but from what I can tell excursion prices reaced an all time low when fuel prices spiked a couple years ago. Additionally, yours is a v10, and the diesels commands $3500-$5000 premium, easily.

I think if you take your time and present it well, you will sell it well. I am always surprised at how poorly people do selling vehicles because they give no info, pictures, or maint records. Post up 50 great pictures of everything and give a true history and share all the information that you can about the vehicle including why you did what you did to it.
I know this sounds elementary and silly, but sit down as ask yourself...what do I like to see in ads for cars I want to buy? What info is valuable to a buyer like me? If I dont trust online sellers, what would give me more confidence? Consumer confidence brings a consumers best offer!

Yeah, and get it detailed and stop driving it while you try to sell it. I know when I bought my last vehicle before the X, I was buying from private sellers, and I ended up buying the truck I got probably partly because it had just been detailed and so was like buying a new car. When you have the kids toys on the floor and garbage under the seats, the prospective buyer doesn't get excited because it doesn't feel like he is in a "new car." I got excited in the pathfinder because I felt like it was new. Its $100-140 to detail a car (well maybe more for excursion) but I'm pretty confident you'll get every cent of that back tenfold in the sale.
