looking at a 63 unibody
Sitting at pawn shop currently, i somewhat know the owner, he likes me apparently i can get a decent deal if i can get the money, he is asking 2500 but said he would take 1k from me. Its 63, ford fire engine red swb 2wd 292 auto.
The truck will need some TLC for sure dont know anything about it except a quick once over told me it has sat for some time, it needs a radiator, but other than that looks to be whole. What are some things to look out for on these unibodys? i heard they can crack but this one looks pretty good.
I hope im able to afford this truck before he gets rid of it, my dad also has a 63 the same color, although his has been a flat bed for the last 40 years.
If i get it, i would like to do a "light retromod" on it, maybe so far as independant front and rear suspension and EFI, but the outside and interior will both stay 63 except a seat recover, and some 16 or 17" wheels.

If the body is good, it is a great deal at $1000. Does it have the big back window or just the standard one. A radiator is no big deal at all. Check the floorpans, cab supports, tailgate hinges, drip rails, etc for rust. Can you post some pics? I've included a couple pics of my 62 LWB Uni. It has the standard back window.
