I have the factory tires on my 2012 Limited, 275/55-20. After 65k it's time for tires and I was looking at an upsize to 305/50. Anyone have experience with this size in an otherwise stock application and if so, how does it look?
I'm sorry, I don't have any experience with this size change, but one thing you will want to think about is how it will affect your speedometer. I changed the size of the tires on my silverado from 265 to 245 & my speedometer is now off by about 5 mph at hwy speeds. when it says I'm going 65, I'm really only going about 60. Likewise, my odometer is also off. I would expect that if you go up in size it will lower your speedometer reading at the same speeds. Just a thought.
The difference with the change I'm suggesting is less than 1%, which is why I'm suggesting that size. The change in aspect ratio along with the width keeps the height almost the same. Old sidewall height 151.25, new height 152.5.
Stayed with the stock size, couldn't justify an $70 more per tire for an extra inch of width. It's already coming up on $1k between the ties, mounting balancing, TPMS service, alignment and tax.
