2004 F-150, 5.4L 3V. P2196, P2198
The issue at hand is with a 2004 F-150, 5.4L 3V. P2196, P2198
So I know about the sticky injectors and the potential complications with the plugs. The inherent damage to the catalytic converter as well. I'm aware that Ford has some sort of extended warranty related and that it's likely not of use in reality.
There is one symptom that is directly attributed to one condition. In 4 wheel LOW only, not in 4WH or 2W. Only AFTER it is fully engaged and indicates so, there is almost no immediate throttle response.
And of course it has the typical symptoms associated with these DTC's. stalling, surging at idle, slow recovery of idle.. mileage reports as 14.4 average. tailpipe looks decent.
