Did you guys get your cameras working with your radios? I'm in the process of doing this and all I get is a black screen, wiring checks out with the pinout so I don't get it....

I need help with new tailgate

I'm new to this thread so sorry for the newbie questions. I recently purchased a 2012 F250 King Ranch and found out that the tailgates grow legs and run off and never come back. My tailgat was stolen and luckily I was able to buy a used one at the local junk yard. My problem is that my truck has 5wires on the old connector coming from the truck and the new tailgate has a 6wire adapter. Both female and male connections fit but obviously it doesnt work. Anyone know if there is a harness of some sort. The tailgate came off a wrecked 2014 F250. Any help woulf be greatly appreciated. I have the rearview mirror back up camera if that helps.

The newer model might have had a power lock/unlock- what model/year turck was it from? Also do the wire colors look the same and in similar order on both? If not possibly need to be swapped in the new connector to match the old? You probably will need wiring diagrams from both year vehicles to match them correctly.

Send a private message to Yahiko. He may have the pdf for the wiring diagrams. Not you the poster I quoted, obviously.

Hi, I'm new to this site and I'm sure this may be a old thing but I've been searching for some time and ran into this and it is what I'm looking for. If dinnertime could please help that would be awsome. I have a 2011 f250 with backup camera, I bought a 2015 tail gate but when I hook it in the camera want work. Mine is a 5 pin on the truck the tail gate is a 6 pin ( 6th Wire is black and stops at like a few inches) anyways I'm trying to get my camera wired back. Just wanted to see if someone could please help with the correct way to wired the 2 together. Thanks

Wiring issues

I have a 2008 F250 tailgate with camera and a 2012 f250 rear view mirror with screen. I am wiring this up on an 02 F350. I cannot get them wired correctly to work. Please help. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The only "advise" i can give you guys is what I know. I put a 2015 Tailgate with step and no camera, Then got a ~07 handle with camera (I don't like the huge badge in the middle) with tailgate harness, I then ran my own wires from there on my 2005 F350KR to the aftermarket stereo with backup. what I figured out is on the 6 position, 5 connector plug (Dexter is showing) the wiring is [Not used - Ground - A/V Shield - Video(-) - Video(+) - Fused Power] now, it looks like you have a purple wire (or purple stripe, I can't tell) in your connector, Mine doesn't, Mine had [empty - Black/White - Black - Brown/Blue - White/Green - Tan/Brown], all I can say is undo the tape and split loom and follow the wires a bit. the video wires are twisted together (Similar to internet cable if you know what that looks like) and the rest should be power and ground of some kind, Maybe use a multimeter and play with functions (Locks, reverse sense *Engine off and tires blocked obviously, unless you trust your circuit testing buddy to not run you over*, etc).

A power lock should add at least 2 wires that toggle back and forth for lock and unlock (I put an aftermarket one on mine I know)
