300K
Hey fellas, thought I would let you know that "Big Red" just hit the 300K mark. : ) It's at 301K now. I took a pic with my phone, sent it to my email, and don't know how to link it here. I'll try to send it to photobucket so I can put it on here. Noticed that my sig just has my '02 Excursion there. It's an '03 6.0L PSD, just to clear that up. : )

Thanks guys, the comments and cheers really means alot!! I can't even begin to count all the negative comments from owning a 6.0L PSD. It just motivates me to keep this truck until it can't go anymore! I keep doing 150-250 miles a day, did 1000 miles last week. I am doing about 40-45K a year right now, so we shall see what the mighty 6.0L will do! : ) Here's a pic of Big Red:

Thanks Troy! The truck began it's life with my father-in-law. He immediately put a Bully Dog chip in it without doing any exhaust work or intake. Well, at 92K, we had to replace the turbo, and at 132K, we had to replace the head gaskets......so out the Bully Dog chip came. Let me back track. I got the truck from him at 61K (he can't keep a truck too long, it's scares him) and then starting working it from there. I have probably trailered 120K miles with this thing, hauling 15K pound form trailers (we do foundation, flatwork) all over Oregon and Washington. All the while doing 150+ miles a day with this thing for the last 6 years. For a while, I was running it 7 days a week, 2 years straight. My father-in-law ran 30W Delo 400 in it for the first 61K. When I took possesion, I changed to Rotella T 5W-40. With all the miles I put on when I first got the truck (50-55K a year), I was doing 20K oil changes/filter every 5K....in fact, I did that for 160K!!! Then the economy took a dump, therefore less miles, I went to what I am currently doing now, oil change every 10K/filter every 5K. No EGR problems, just one turbo and head gasket. We have replaced all but two of the original injectors, just did the alternator at 292K. We replaced the radiator at 287K, oh, the A/C compressor was just changed at 299K, that's it. Still original tranny and rear end. We have rebuilt the front end twice. Oh, we have always used Motorcraft coolant and I add the conditioner every 6 months (I get it from Ford).

Threads like this make my day. Although I've had no issues yet with my truck(73k), I'm obsessed with preventive maintenance on it now. For a while there I feared that I had just made the biggest financial mistake of my life buying it, but I do so enjoy driving it.
I have 226,000 on my 1999 F-150 (daily commuter) and I maintain that religiously. I know when it dies, my F-250 will need to take it's place until a new commuter vehicle comes around.
Thanks a lot for posting, your truck looks great!!
