I got through the first season of Stranger things and started on the second one. Honestly I don't like SciFi movies, but this one has me wanting to keep watching it.
I didn't like the Stranger Things series nearly as much as I hoped i would, which is a shame because it really is a great original show. First one was really good, second was was alright, third one we have given up on. I agree that most of it is the 80's references and nostalgia that kept me interested. I don't remember a ton from the 80's but quite a bit of that was taking me on a quick tour of my early childhood, lol.
Some things are very inaccurate.. Like who has batteries that work in more than one walkie talky??? I mean, for them to pretty much be on all of the time and batteries never dead? Also, the Arcades.. The video action on the screen was definitely not that of the 80's, or even the 90's, it was a cartoon on a screen.
I am just about ready to start the most recent season of Stranger things. Nothing else has interested me much, I guess I am focusing more attention on other things. I have been passing myself in the hall, I've been so busy.
I agree, it's a great show but their biases tend to run on the left side most of the time. It's kinda nice though to see that side though, since when I open Facebook I see the scale tilted clear over to the right side!
It's a good balance to observe both sides and make my own judgments
I got an Amazon video credit through my phone carrier, so I rented a couple movies I'd been on the fence about. The box with Cameron Diaz which got some terrible reviews, but I thought was decent. Then the man who killed Hitler and then Bigfoot with Sam Elliott. Had heard good things and I also thought it was decent. Had an interesting view on World War II and potential coverups by both the US and Germany.
I watched "Living with myself" with Paul Rudd. It was a short series, and was pretty funny at times. No laugh out loud parts, but I still would recommend it. It was interesting how it was filmed. The whole thing kept going in circles and covering events, then going back and filling in the missing pieces, then again, circling around to fill in missing pieces. I liked it.
I will check out Corner Gas as soon as I finish the current movie I am watching which I can't even recall what it is right now.
I started watching Corner Gas again from the beginning last week. Geeze, I laughed. It is a must if you’ve lived in a rural prairie town. I’ll have to check out the animated one. It has probably been 10 years since I first watched it. I used to work with a lady from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
