before the new oilpan

before i pit a new oilpan on. whats the best product to coat it with. ( por-15?)

IMO, POR15 is mostly for treating an area that is already rusted. If it is a new oil pan, I would think you might want to try some sort of epoxy paint. Another thing you could consider would be to rhino line the pan, but you would have to be very careful to tape off all the areas where you need to bolt things up (dipstick flange, bolt holes, etc) since the liner is pretty thick.

does the paint have to be a high heat type?

I wouldn't think so. The oil temps don't (or at least shouldn't) run all that hot. I think typical EOT is around 180-200*.
