I am unfortuneately the owner of the F150 ecoboost in the video. I did not mean to offend any Ford owners, but after buying this truck in June and taking it back to dealer two days later for this smoking problem the dealer kept it for 1 week. The dealer Terrace Ford Lincoln, Burlington,Ontario- could not diagnose the problem but told me to drive the truck for a week or two to see if it would clear up. I waited for 3 wks., it was still smoking very bad on start up so I called them and they told me not to bring it back as they could not diagnose the problem and their was no fix on Ford tech hotline and Ford will not authorize any repair on my truck. The dealer told me to call Ford Canada and Ford Canada told me to go back to the Dealer. After being hung out to dry for 3 1/2 months I decided to post this video!!! Yes it is oil. Smoke in video is blueish-white, doesnt show up that way in video. I burned 2 1/2 quarts of oil in less than 2000 miles. I did find a dealer in the next town who is in the process of putting a new motor in my truck - still waiting to get it back! Any comments or questions are welcomed, this video is no joke - I just want the truck I paid for without all the problems!

I'm having a bit of a problem with this one. If a truck has been left with a dealer for one week and the dealer can't see the smoke when the engine is started as it is in the video then that dealer and or Ford Motor Company may need to re-think their real time observations and diagnosis techniques. If it smoked at the dealer like it did in the video I don’t see any way that the dealer could say that there’s nothing wrong with the truck. And to say they can’t diagnose the problem seem ludicrous to me. Otherwise there can’t possible be a valid claim here.
I took my truck into the dealer because the engine had dying 3 different times unexpectedly. They couldn't find a failure code on my truck during the diagonosic proceedure either but they surmised from previous experiences of some other drivers/owners that the throttle body had an electronic failure even though there were no failure codes during the diagnoses. Had my dealer followed the same logic this particulate dealer did then I would have been sent home without a warranty repair.
If this engine burned 2 1/2 quarts of oil in less than 2000 miles and the dealer can't determine that something’s wrong, then there has to be sometime run amuck in this whole story or the dealer needs to close its doors and go fishing.

The dealer did see the smoke - they admitted the truck was smoking but wanted me to drive it to see if the problem would subside. I provided them with the DVD of about 30 different start ups of my truck in different locations about a month later after the initial return of the truck to the dealer. If you do not believe me contact Terrace Lincoln Ford and ask for John Treble in service - he saw the video - see what he has to say.

Thanks for your interest - I am hoping I will get my truck back in a week, if I find out what was originally wrong with the motor or turbos I will gladly post it on this thread. Glad to hear from anyone else - two other people on my you-tube video also commented that they had similar problems as me.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The dealer did admit it smoked and I am sure they did drive it every day to confirm this, however, they told me to drive it anyways for a week or two and hopefully the problem would subside. It didn't subside and then they washed their hands of the big problem they sold me. I did demand a full refund or new truck but as I live in Canada we do not have as much protection as you do in the US.
P.S. I live in Canada, however, I am an American Citizen and grew up in Maryland and I am very disappointed in the way this has been handled by the dealer and Ford Canada.

I am the owner of the video and I have read through the thread carefully and would like to correct some information. Someone posted that I said in my youtube video that Ford thought it might be a turboseal or turbo problem, that is incorrect. I stated that my friend is a turbo specialist at Dodge and has been repairing and working on turbos for 20 yrs. and in his opinion he thought their might be a defect in the turbo shaft that might let oil leak past onto the wrong side of the turbo when the engine was cooling down.

WOW, It must be a cold morning with high humidity!!! I think this is another atempt to slander Ford by someone that likes "Government" Motors or Dod(FIAT)ge. I won't even lower my self to include Toy. If I owned one that smoked like a Chevy Vega, it would be parked a the Ford place and its replacement would be at home.
What a joke!!!!!!!!!!

It was a 72 degree June morning in southern Ontario, yes it did rain overnight, but we do not get the humidity like south of the border as I am originally from Maryland. I am not out to slander Ford, my 2 brother-in-laws, are 32 year employees at Oakville Assembly Plant and F-I -L is a 35 yr retired employed from same place. I think Ford has great products, that is why I bought this truck, my issue is with the dealer that sold me the truck, how this whole problem has been handled by the dealer and anyone else at Ford that knew of this problem and ignored this until it got to this point. I am not going to defend myself on this thread anymore, however, if anyone has any questions or positive advice for my problem I am more than willing to answer any questions or listen to any advice.

I would see if there was a way to look inside of each of the turbo tubes to the intake one at a time to see if there is oil residue inside. If one of them is dry and the other with oil on the inside then you may have found your problem.
I would guess it could possibly be an oil seal in one of the turbos. If there were a way to disconnect and plug the oil line to each of the turbos one at a time you might find the problem. I would imagine the oil line to the turbos are steel lines are they? If they were flexable lines they could be pinched close with a clamp of some kind while the engine is idling restricting the flow of oil.

I personally am just intrested in finding out what is causing it and if the dealer will get it fixed or replace the truck for you. Anyway as a I said before, keep us informed and don't mind the blind.
