I'm trying to get the F-2 up and running for the Dash to the Dells show this weekend. Anyone else going? Mike, Duane? How about you flatlanders? Stu, Rusty, the Kevins, Rob?

I made a big mistake, a while back my wife asked if I wanted to go to her cousin's birthday party Saturday, she had to RSVP. Without thinking I said "sure". My wife's a little sneaky, she doesn't like my old truck hobby and I know she knew that this Saturday was the Dash but she took advantage of my bad memory. She conveniently didn't mention anything about the show being the same day. Well, now we're committed to going but it starts at 3 pm. I'm sure I can spend some good quality time at the show and most likely make it back in time for the party, maybe. What's the worse that can happen if I'm late?

If you're planning on going please post here. If you're in the SE WI area maybe we can meet early Saturday morning and convoy to the Dells together. I'm pretty certain I'll have both trucks, Andy will be driving the panel most likely.

 

I thought I was gonna come, but now not so sure. Normally I tag alone with Rusty, but he told me last week he's not coming, so I'd be coming alone if I do. So I'll have to see. Stu

Not sure yet if I can go... would love to. i'll check and see what is going on this weekend. My son is in full marching band mode now at his high school. I'll get back to you guys asap.

Sounds like fun. Wish I could make it, but the 52 is without an engine and the 51 needs a complete tune up and electrical work.

 

Yeah, that would make the 2213 one way trip kind of hard. Also the gas mileage on the '51 probably would really suck.

Oh well, you are always telling about all the swap meets and shows out there in sunny CA, it's about time I have something here you are envious of

 

Come out for a few months and I'll take around to all of the swap meets. Just make sure to have deep pockets and a truck to drive back home.

AAAHHH! Thanks for the vm too Bob, but I can't make it this year. We've got a new baby in the house (Emily -- 3 weeks old) and we're heading down to Chicago to show her off to the all the inlaws. So, no car show....just baby show.

 

I doubt if I'll be going myself unless my son really wants to go. With the stupid B-day party I'd have to rush through the show. I have a 1 1/2 hour drive each way.

I've tried to organize a convoy of old Fords from FTE but I guess it was a little short notice. How about we try to organize something for next year?

 

I'm out too as my son has marching band stuff Friday and Saturday evening this week. Let's organize something "down the road". I'd be up for hosting a gathering sometime in Central IL.

I just got an email from Mac's, they informed me the spring shackle bolts are back ordered 1-2 weeks so I probably won't have the F-2 ready for the show. I wish they would list this information on their web site when you order the parts. or at least contact me sooner, not 3 days later so I have more time to find another vender. Oh yeah, I have one place local who has them, for $32 a piece!

Can we say now that we can make it a definite attendance next fall in the Dells? I really think it would be awesome if we could assemble a good sized contingent representing FTE.

 

Sounds like a good plan for 2012 Bob. I've been wanting to come to that show for many years now. There is certainly not enough FTE stuff in my area to properly fuel my addiction. That's why I have to search around for great trucks for others to buy!

 

GREAT idea for 2012 -- I'm in. It would be very cool to get a bunch of us guys out there and plenty of time to prepare.
