Found an Interesting Slick Online

I found this truck while browsing the internet. The body is definitely a slick but i have no idea what the grille and headlights are from. I thought it looks kinda cool, especially if you like ratrods.

Are the hood prop sticks factory or a dealer added accessory?

Those are Cholo Gang Banger Hood Brackets... they hold the hood there so as you drive, it creates lift to keep the truck from bottoming out in driveways.... They are an aftermarket add on that Ford thought to be a safety issue, as they hindered forward visibility especially at higher speeds. they do necessitate driving with your head hanging out the side window... They do however have an unforeseen benefit... the indiuced air flow helps keep the engine bay much cooler, and with the the exception of a few bugs here and there, much cleaner... I have a few set's for sale if you are interested... they retail for $650 per pair, or you can get the do it your self kit for $ 2.98 at your local lumber yard! Installation not included!

Looks like the same person did the customizing here. Notice the use of the dual headlights.

Buzz,

Ya know our trucks dropped the dual headlights in 1960, but FoMoCo and others continued with their 'stylish' use on passenger cars for many years afterward.

It's sure not my style, but that is some interesting work on the grille. Maybe the dual headlights from whichever 57-60 had them and a 55 grille. I've never liked the lowered look much, but as far as lowered trucks are concerned, I think slicks are about the best looking ones.

I like it. Reminds me of the Johnny Cash song where he sings about building a Cadillac from pieces he had snuck from work across several years.

This truck appears to have plenty of neat fab work. I'd be interested in seeing any details.

If every truck was fixed up to original specs,we wouldn't appreciate them as much cause they all would be the same! Just like the ladies there must be ...never mind I think I was starting a deep hole there lol I put down the shovel.
