Suggestions. If it is still cheaper to buy in gallon size and you will use a gallon size, someone suggested to me to buy a few small empty pint/quart paint cans and fill them full at the beginning, so you aren't exposing the gallon can to the the air, as it ages the POR-15. Also it was suggested if you have a garage refrig., store cans, as cold also slows down chemical action. There are many two part paints for our use and there is always someone who has had good/bad luck with each of them. I think preparation is the answer. chuck

I would not buy POR 15 in gallon size. Use quart size. Also, use a laddle to scoup out the paint being careful to not get any on the lip of the can. Before putting the lid back on put a piece of saran wrap between the lid and the can. POR 15 is good stuff, I have bought cans were the lid was stuck from the factory (usually this happens when it is the only can I have). Good luck getting the can open if you get paint on the lip.

Just wire brush and paint and your good to go.

I used rust bullet on a 65 Mustang with very good results. Only loose rust needs to be wire brushed off. If you are going to top coat the rust bullet, you should lightly sand it first.

If I you are going to spray on por15 make sure to be in a well ventilated place. I would also wear a resparator as por contains isocyinates. Not sure I spelled that right but it has some not so good to breath stuff in it. Just my thoughts on spraying this stuff on. My truck was sitting outside when I did the frame so no problem with ventilation issues there. Oh hey is that a bowtie I spy in the post above this one? Whats up with that?

It was my Dad's 87 GMC Wrangler which I inherited after he passed away! I'm building a show truck for my Sled deck business I will be running once I get my shop built
