Question seatbelt retractor

My driver's side seat belt has almost stopped retracting; the thing needs a shot of Viagra! Can these things be adjusted or do they wear out and get replaced?

i know on newer models there was a kit to install on the top part where the belt goes thru by your shoulder...i ended up using some goof off and a towel to clean out the crud in there. it might be as simple as that. i thought the same thing with the wife's expy...but turned out the "roller" was gummed up slowing down the belt..worth a shot...for free

There is a spring inside. You can open it up, and rewind the spring. Be very aware of how it comes apart, there are lots of parts, and messing up the seat belt isnt something you want to do..

But yet. It can be fixed.

Free? Sounds good to me. I'll clean that and see what happens.

If it goes that far, I'll go to Mike my mechanic. He's GOOD! My ability to break a crowbar in a sandbox AND lose one of the pieces is well known.
