Aligning transmission splines to clutch plate??

Hi,

I am in the process of upgrading my stock clutch to a southbend and getting ready to lift the transmission up to the reconnect to the engine. However, it was a real bitch to get in pulled back and off the engine. Now, I am thinking how the heck am I going to get the splines from the input shaft to line up with the splines in the clutch plate without damaging anything?

Any tips, help?

Thanks,
Terry.

Did you tighten the pressure plate with a clutch alignment tool in place ?

I put the trans in gear (4th). lift the trans up and even with the engine. push it till it stops then slowly turn the output shaft till it lines up
