OT: How to filter ATF for use as fuel
A friend of mine is about to change his ATF. I've run ATF before, but it was new (been sitting around, sealed in bottle). So my question is.. Is there an easy way to filter it out for occasional use? I dont want to buy an elaborate contraption because I wont use it often. Just curious if there is a feasible way to do it.
Its only about 8 quarts, but its more for the fun of saying "Yeah sure.. I'll take your ATF"

Get a filter head and 5 micron filter from Wix & Napa Filters & Accessories: FleetFilter Secure Online Store
You can gravity feed the filter so you don't need a pump.
A cheaper way would be to find a WVO guy in your area that has a centrifuge and pay him a small fee to run it through his centrifuge.

Get a pair of jeans. Tie a knot in one leg. Hold it over a "fuel" container. Pour the oil into the leg and let it drain through and into the container. Pour it into your truck.
These trucks are tougher than you guys give them credit for. The fear of damaging the injectors is so overstated.
I pump my "fuel" through two 10 micron filters after letting it gravity settle.
The worst thing that might happen is you clog your trucks OEM fuel filter prematurely.

And they don't have a Pre-Pump OEM fuel filter. They do have "screens" that frequently get plugged from contaminants in the fuel.

The OEM filter is inside the fuel bowl (at least mine is). I hope the screens have already been removed with the Hutch mod.
