Are E3 Plugs Better than Normal Plugs?

I am getting ready to change my plugs. Stacey David pushes E3 plugs to improve mileage and performance. They cost $6 each vs $1.55. Has anybody tried them and actually tested their mileage numbers before and after? I am suspicious of aftermarket claims of higher mileage and I don't want to get conned, but I am still intreagued. Yes, I have used them in 2 vehicles and noticed improvements in both performance and mileage.

One in a V10, which isnt personally mine, but I'm around the truck a lot.
The other was in my 5.4 in my F150.

My 5.4 showed improvements in performance, idled smother, and had a slight MPG gain (less than 1MPG).

The V10 showed a performance gain and a 1-2MPG gain, however the old plugs were over due, but looked good coming out.
