Well...I did some weed abatement....went RC flying, then scored some points with Mrs. old_dan (good move CharlieLED).....She's an elementary school principal & they moved her to a new school this year. I helped her set up a few things at her new office.
After that I used POR-15 fuel tank treatment in (and on) the gas tank for the 52. After sloshing the sealer around in the tank I drained out the excess. It appears to be regular old POR silver primer, so I used a brush and hit the outside of the tank with the same sealer. Here's a pic:

Celebrated my 41 st wedding anniversary (I was nine when I got married). Took the wife to a fancy restaurant and chocked on the bill.
Changed the fuel filter on the ’56. It took 5 minutes but at 101 degrees, I wanted to avoid dehydration and was taking no chances.
Picked 2 bushels of beans that had fallen from the Mesquite trees. (I hate those Meses to pieces). I had a sign that read “Free beans, all you can pick” but I had no takers. So much for the best laid plans of Meses and men. Unfortunately, I’ll be back, that is if my back holds out.
Read the book “How to defend yourself against your lawyer”. I don’t have a lawyer but if I need one, I wanted to be two steps ahead. Sadly, the book was written by a lawyer so I wasted my time.

Saturday morning, I ran 12 miles (9 with the Cross Country team) mowed the lawn, passed out on the bedroom floor.....
Sunday after church finished getting the rust of the rear axle and put a coat of primer on it. I need to finish getting it painted soon. Mrs. Harrier asked if she was ever going to get her car in the garage again. "Yes, Dear. I just need to finish painting the axle and I can put it back under the frame. The tires will go out under the deck so you have more room."

Engine returned from the machine shop Friday afternoon...
So, I got the area somewhat organized and on Saturday and before it became too darn hot, started putting it back together.
This is where progress ended once it became 104 degrees - Yikes!
Happy week Friends.

I cheated and took some of my vacation time this week so there's 4 days here...
Wired up and tested the cigar lighter
Wired up and tested the voltage reducer for heater blower motor
Pounded out both hinge pins and soft installed exterior mirrors
welded in keeper nut for visor (PO stripped the sheet metal)
installed sound/thermal insulating throughout cab upper and rear
installed visors
Compression tested engine & changed spark plugs (same time)
Fired up engine for first time in 8 years
checked headlights and high beams (can't test without full amps - trickle charger overloads)
bled the brakes (rear end swap - lots of air)
Took seat cover off (to give to misses for sewing work)
Arthritis (36yrs old) hurt so bad I took Sunday off (day 5 in a row I had planned) and stayed home.

Did not get a whole lot of time to work on the truck, but removed 1 cross member in the middle for the boxing plates, finshed welding the shock towers in the rear, and did a ton of research on the 2011 Coyote Motor I want to install. There are issues with the AC and Power Steering brackets. Oh and got stiffed by a guy who has a hood for sale and never showed.

Two steps forward one step back
Got the junkyard 4.6 wired up and started for a check out and after several tests it looks like.

It may have some broken or weak valve springs? Tomorrow I'll pull the valve covers and see. Anybody know if the valve springs on these engines can be changed without pulling the heads or removing the cams.
