1999 Powerstroke wont start
My 99 won't start intermittently. Turns over fine, but won't fire. Wait to start light comes on briefly, then goes out. I replaced CMP sensor, still have prob. If I toggle the ignition and the wait to start stays on for normal 5-6 seconds, it will usually start. Sometimes it will only run for a min or so, other times runs normally. Not getting any codes from OBD2 port. Any ideas?

You're probably not getting any codes because a generic OBDII scanner will not work with a PSD. Also, what kind of CPS (CMP) did you use? Ford? Color?
What kind of scanner?
You could try unplugging the ICP and see if that helps... but you really need to get the codes off the PCM, and an injector buzz test wouldn' hurt, either.
*EDIT*
If it's only a n issue when starting, it could be glow plugs, Glow Plug Relay, (GPR) Low Batteries, etc. Have you load tested your batteries?

The sensor came from Summit Racing. I believe the brand is "Standard". I thought I was getting a black one, however when it came it was grey. The old one was grey as well. I just bought the code reader. Not sure the brand, was about $250. Sometimes when its running, it will miss, then the overdrive light starts flashing, or service engine soon comes on.

As far as the CPS, if it's not a Ford one, it's a toss-up as to whether or not it will work right. If you want the black one you CAN use the International CPS's (Its a International engine, after all) go to your local International store and ask for a CPS for a "T444E" Don't say it's for your powerstroke, or they might notgive it to you, lol!
Depending on the codes, it could be a High-Pressure oil issue, IPC/ICP issue, or a UVCH issue... but you are swinging in the dark until you get the codes read.
