1994 f-250 7.3 turbo misfire
A quick question that probably isn't so quick. My truck was running good and one morning when I got going and put a decent amount of acceleration it mad a slight knocking noise and went away. on the way home that evening it started misfiring i went and read some forum post and checked out a few things mainly making sure the valves were all tight and everything in the housing was ok. It was all good.
The most disconcerting thing was the glow plug under the turbo the wire had melted and the glow plug steam had broken off. I was wondering can a loose glow plug wire cause a misfire and if not i need some more ideas. I am taking one of the injectors in to be tested to make sure it isn't that. Any help would be appreciated.

You have to take all 8 to be tested not just one. that one could be good but the other 7 could be bad. i would be willing to bet that you have at least one bad injector.
How many miles on IP and injectors? if you are over 100,000 it is time to start shopping for new IP and injectors.

Sounds like an injector is bad. If you get a 5/8 wrench and crack the line loose to each injector, one at a time, it will cause that cylinder to misfire. The one that doesnt change the way the motor runs is the bad cylinder. You could then swap the injector with one from a cylinder that is firing, and if your miss moves to the other cylinder you know its the injector.

you can't just test one injector.the bad one could be anywhere.
next time she knocks, pull over pop the hood, and quickly touch each steel injector line.
find one much hotter than the other, and you've found your bad/knocking injector.
heck, don't even wait for the knock.just check 'em once she warmed up after a 10 minute drive, and if no luck try when she knocks.
i was gunna add the info above as another way to test.follow bashby's advice also if no luck with finding a hot line.
another way,is to use a large screwdriver.place the flat metal end on the injector and place your ear on the handle.a good injector has a very loud distinct CLICK! to it.find one that sounds much lower and you've found a failing injector.find one that doesn't click at all and you've found a dead one.
