narrowed down to two sets of tires. need help

alright ive narrowed it down to two different sets of tires. the goodyear wrangler duratracs and the BFG at ko's. i like the tread pattern on the wranglers better but they dont come in a 32x11.5r15 and the bfg's do.. which would you all recommend? hopefully they will be going on 15x10 wheels if the budget allows but if not then theyll be on the factory alcoas.

so 31x10.5r15 goodyear wrangler duratracs or 32x11.5r15 bfg at ko's?

depends how much time you are going to spend off road in the nasty stuff. If it were me and I was going to be offraod a lot,the last tire I would pick would be bfg a/t's. they were on my truck when I bought it until I took it hunting the 1st time. I missed the next hunting day and had interco trxus m/t's put on the truck and haven't looked back since!!

I dont do alot of offroading. I want the more aggressove tread mainly for the winter time when it gets nasty and as a "just incase" type thing.

Everyone is singing praises about the Duratrac around these parts (the forum), so i would probably go with that, but do a little research because i think there is a Kelly made version of the Duratrac which is basically the same but will save you some money.

i wouldn't go any smaller than 31's but no bigger than 33's

Mastercraft Tires - Courser MT -

CooperTiresConsumer - Discoverer S/T™

i think Cooper STT's r the best but a little pricey...

I put Duratracs in LT235/85-16E on The Buffalo and I do not regret it. Good road manners and they hook up great off-road. If anyone said these skins are mushy on the pavement, they didn't have enough air in them. I'm running about 45 psi all the way around.

A side benefit is the fact they're a relatively quiet tire on pavement.

Anybody know of the kelly version of the duratrac? I really like its tread pattern and ive heard alot of good about them. I think i can live with the 31's instead of 32's since i have no plans of regearing anytime soon

I know you wanted our opinions between the KO's and duratracs, but I bought the Cooper Discover AT3 tires and they are way more aggresive in real life then in pictures and they are great in every road condition and off road. Great in mud for an aggrsive A/T. Im not just saying this to brag about my tires, but these are the only tires ill buy. I converted my dad to these from KO's and he had KO's for years. On top of being great tires, they are made here in the U.S. It is stamped right in the sidewall. Hope this helps you, because I was in the same boat a while back.

but if you want my opinion between the KO's and Duratracs. Id go with the Duratracs. That was my second choose from the Cooper AT3's. Also the AT3's where a little under 160 a tire at my local tire shop mounted and balanced. Size 31 10.5 15

More agressive tread is not good in most snow/ ice situations. Maybe going through a field of deep loose snow, but the actual conditions on the road... All terrains are better, snow tires are better yet. STUDDED snow tires are bad a**.

I have the BFG at ko's on my truck. (31x10.5 15) and even being a 2wd they're pretty good in the winter. Not hugely impressed with the tread life with highway driving though..
