Let's see that body damage!

Let's see that body damage!
I figure since we have threads for just about everything else I would start a thread about body damage as a therapy to get me through this hard time.
A couple of weeks ago we were camping out in the boonies. We had dropped the trailer and driven to a lake for a swim. Came back to camp and backed in to park in front of the trailer. Even though I now have tow mirrors, I couldn't quite see the passenger rear corner of the truck because of the sun and shadows. Needless to say, I felt the thud as the tree stopped my backing.
I am **** enough that I have to get it fixed, the problem is that my wife had just signed off on a 5-Star tuner that same morning. Anyway, today it is going in to my buddy's shop to get both sides of the bed straightened out and painted. The driver side had a crease in the fender lip and a couple little dings when I got it, so I figured for another $600 why not get both sides done. It should look pretty when it's done because I just swapped the dented tailgate for a matching non-dented one last week (free).
Here's the new dent:
And here's the driver's side dents:

Just saw one that color for sale, just can't remember where!! I was looking for a tailgate for a 2001 F150 I just sold. They might have one here:
Ohio Light Truck Parts Co. Inc.| Truck Caps | Pick-up and SUV Accesories | After Market Body Parts | Rust Repair Panels

It is cultural thing. From living in Germany I remember that even the smallest scratch on the car was ending up in body shop following morning.
In CA people generally take good care about their cars, while in some areas I am getting impression that driving mangled pickup is social status.
My flatbed has only small dings, but on the bed the age and use is showing with corrosion marks. A can of black paint cost 99 cents at HD and I am buying them by the box. How far some will go to save 99 cents.

WHERE DO I START? Funny you bring it up because yesterday I saw an identical truck like mine, missing the passenger's side running board, I got too the other side still had the driver's side one, just like mine, then I got wondering, because I lost mine plowing snow hit a frozen snow bank and ripped 'er off, how did they lose theirs? As far as body damage it's all away around on my 2004, most of it from being stupid and not paying attention, BUT unlike a Chevy or a Dodge, my F-250 takes a licking and keeps on ticking!

I'll fix 'em if I ever need to sell the truck.
Until then, they serve 2 very good purposes:
1) They keep me from worrying about "scratching the truck" when we're out exploring. Let's me focus on having fun! Words you'll never hear from me: "We can't go up to that mine, we might scratch the truck".
2) Theft deterrence! Dented tailgates don't get stolen!
Which is not to say I go out and beat on it, I just use it like a truck, and consider the minor dents, dings, and "desert racing stripes" as badges of honor and achievement.
