Defiantly do the mod, pulling my camper I can't squeeze into a lot of the 'regular' spots so I go to the trucker lane to fill up. Without the mod I wouldn't be able to fill up with the big truck nozzles.
Thanks FordPride and Dclack for the links, the mod looks pretty straight forward. I will have to take a rain check on trading engines. Maybe a few years down the road.
I finally got a picture of the truck downloaded. This is it the day after i got it home. I took the flatbed of and old 60's FORD and cut it down to fit my truck. This is before it was bolted down. Paint and a Headache rack coming soon. (After Hunting Season)
I am already loving it! Runs great, drives great, and now that it has some wieght on the back it rides decent too. I do not recommend driving 200 miles on crappy Alaskan hiways with a dually and no bed or weight in the back. As far as I can tell the engine and associated parts are completley stock (for now).
Yea, as long as the winters can be Im sure I will be spending alot of time out in the shop with it.
I am having problems finding the filler adapter that goes from the hose to the bed, (not sure the exact term) I need to get it attatched to the flatbed the correct way instead of stinking zip ties.
